I would love to hear what other Christians or moms gave their children names with biblical meanings... Did you chose a name because you just liked it or because of its meaning? Please share the name you chose and why?

We plan to name our little girl Petra. Peter is a very beloved apostle by me. Middle names are possibly Shiloh, Grace, Frances (honoring St Francis), or Charity.

I love Isaac for a boy and its meaning, "laughter."  Abraham and Sarah laughed at God when he told them they were going to have a son in their 90s... And he showed them just how big he is!!! Love that it would be a constant reminder of how big and how amazing our God is!

Well Leah and Jacob had a son named Judah which means great praise.  And my name being Leah and a big praise Singer to lord I wanted to name my son Judah but my husband wanted to carry on family tradition with 4generations but if the lord be willing I will have a chance to name my son Judah and give him praise. But I love the name Judah

No kids yet, but my name came from a song that my dad wrote for my mom including the words from the passage, "you are beautiful, oh my love, as Tirzah". If I have a boy I want to name him Ezra John, because that's what I would have been if I hadn't been female.

Our boy will be Elias Seth. Seth is my husband's name and Elias is after Elijah in the bible.

Our girl will be Naomi after the story of Naomi in the bible. :)

We haven't chosen names yet but on our list we have Thaddeus, Isaiah and Zachariah for boys and so far just Grace for girl.

Our son is named Zane, which means "God is gracious". I came across the name in a book I was reading & liked it, but when I looked up the meaning I fell in love with it! If we have another son, I would like to name him Malachi (husband permitting)! 
I haven't had much luck in thinking of a name if we have a girl, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it I guess! 😁

The names we chose were just because we liked them. Jacob for a boy and Chloe for a girl. A name we considered was Hannah because I love her story and she had such strong faith.

My babies reside in heaven but they are Dominic Tobias and Samuel Malachi. If I ever have a daughter, she will be Emi Carys.  Emi is like Emmy but it’s Japanese.  Carys is the Greek word for grace.
