Just as a cosmetologist, ammonia free has ammonia substitutes that are equally as bad as ammonia. I wouldn't suggest box dye because a lot of times there are metals in it that aren't good for you, and if you try to bleach your hair after, it can burn it off. Spend the extra dollars and take care of your hair. It's better quality and healthier

I had my hair colored both of my whole pregnancies. Professional dye now a days isn't toxic. Not sure about box dyes though.

Yup. But I waited until 14+ weeks so I was clearly out of the first trimester. Just make sure it's a well ventilated area. If you can, use a semi permanent or less harsh dye (if you're doing a full color that will touch your scalp, as compared to just highlights).

My friend does it. But her hair stylist don't put much near to her roots so her roots show easily. So she has to do.it her hair more often. Talk to the professional there is a lot products out there with less chemicals
