So I went for my 38 week check up and my belly was measuring small so my midwife decided to do a growth scan and noticed the legs were the right size but baby's head and body measured very small. She consulted one of the OB's and he suggested we induce the next morning. My midwife did a membrane sweep before I left my appointment and I contracted all night. When I arrived for my induction the next morning I was 3-4 centimeters. They started pitocin at 6:30, broke my water at 7:30 and stopped the pitocin to see if I would progress on my own. I bounced on the birthing ball for a while and the next time they checked me I was 6 centimeters and asked I asked if I could finish laboring in the tub. From there it all went pretty quickly And got very intense. I ended up delivering in the tub completely natural and it was such an amazing, painful, beautiful experience. We didn't find out what we were having while I was pregnant so my husband got to announce to me that she was a girl! The whole process was only about four and a half hours and it was perfect!
