Is it worth spending money to get your wedding dress preserved?

I just had my newborn baby girl posed for pictures ontop of my wedding dress (got married june '14). Now I should probably get it preserved! I have also seen pictures of toddlers in their mom's wedding dress that are super cute!

I would say, unless you're planning on passing down your wedding dress, preservation isn't necessary. If anything, I'd preserve my veil. That, to me, seems like an item my future child will likely wear, as opposed to my dress, which may be out of style at that point. With that said, my wedding dress has been sitting on my closet for 3 years untouched. 😑

I donated my wedding dress to someone in need of one who didn't have the money for a nice one I really don't see the point of keeping it not like I am ever going to wear it again

I did it. One day hopefully I'll have a daughter, and she can either wear my dress or maybe take fabric from it and  incorporate it in your own dress, like I did with my moms. Either way, I wanted the option of it. And it was only like $150 to have it preserved.

Ehhhh I preserved mine. Now I have this HUGE box I have to keep in a closet or wherever. They clean the dress before putting in the box and sealing. The oils from our skin or whatever we spill on it or from the ground can, over time, turn colors on the white fabric. If you plan on reusing it at some point, whether all of it or part of it, it might be worth it if you'll be holding on to it for a long time. My mom offered to pay to have it done and she thought it was a really good idea so I went with it.

Bought my dress on eBay from someone who cancelled their wedding, and their preservation kit was included.  I'd recommend checking eBay.
