I'm about to start trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy next week. Has anyone gone through this? I have a regular therapist I see, but this is a different one who specializes and works for an agency dealing with sexual assault. It's been twenty years since the childhood unspeakables and it's the first time I'm really trying to heal. I know there will be an increase in symptoms and behaviors, but I'm wondering if anyone has any tips to stay safe while going through this, especially when alone. My husband is incredibly supportive but I work 3rd shift and he works 1st. I'm a little worried it will trigger symptoms of my eating disorder and it will be four years of recovery in April.
