How long does it take you to get over a serious relationship?

I had a painful breakup four months ago and I thought I was over it, but it still hurts. Just curious if anyone else has been there.

I don't think I was fully over him until I fell in love again. But it took me like a year before he was mostly out of my mind

I was in a long relationship and I was over it quick looking back its because I tried to leave 4 months in and felt bad because he said he would kill himself so I ended up staying. Stupid me but I was so happy when it was over

It really depends on a lot. For me it took about a year. My x boyfriend (who was all into drugs, booze, being a "street thug" and all about sleeping with other girls while he was with me  ) dumped me . well I was very heartbroken , we had talked about moving in together a month after he dumped me , having kids, ect. I met my current boyfriend half a year later , he asked me out twice I said no then the third time I said yes. Now we've been dating a year and so many months , have our house, and a baby on the way. I think the reason it worked out so much was because we didn't rush. I rejected him twice and he didn't mind. We remained friends and got to know more about each other, what we both wanted , what we did and didn't put up with (drugs ect.) , what our goals were and all that. I don't think there is a certain time limit for getting over someone, it really depends on the situation, and the person. If you think you are ready to be in another relationship then go for it,and if not take as long as you need.

I gave myself a ln entire year before even thinking about a relationship again. I really enjoyed, healed beautifully, and life improved.
