Baby showers and my MIL

So my Mom and I set up my baby shower for a weekend in April that I am off. Tonight my MIL calls my husband and tells him she decided to have her own baby shower for us, because she was just given the date. Now we set this date Jan 1 and sent her a text, never got one back from her. I think she is trying to make my life hard since the next weekend I have off is my sisters senior ball. I only have every other weekend off. Should I be upset about this when I tried to tell her about it over a month ago?
