Tooth pain

I have a tooth that hurts when I eat sweet food. My first thought was immediately a cavity, except when I went to the doctor. They did a complete set of x rays and an examination and I did not have any cavities... They did not seem concerned but it is bothering me! What could this be? I don't know if it helps at all but I had a cavity filled on that tooth months ago..
