Being induced ?

Hi I was wondering if they can induce my labor at 37 or 38 weeks ? I'm currently 34 weeks . I don't have any health problems or anything like that but my boyfriend currently lives in Dallas & I live in Houston I don't want him to miss our daughter being born . So is it an option to induce labor or you have to have a medical reason ?

Most you can do is talk to your doctor. You won't know unless you ask and every doctor is different and just have him explain the risks.

My sister in law got induced at 37-38 weeks because she didnt want a baby the same week as thanksgiving and her daughter was born premature size. Now she's a beautiful one year old with no health problems.

I, myself was induced a day before I was 39 weeks but only because I wanted a vaginal birth and my Dr thought if I carried till she was ready on her own she would be too big and I would have to have a c-section.

I wish you the best. Your doctor knows your baby and what's a better option for you both to be healthy. If induction is what you want then ask for the soonest day you can do it. ☺

My son was induced at 37 weeks for medical reasons. He had a stay in the NICU for being unable to regulate his blood sugar and jaundice. It is absolutely irresponsible to induce that early for no medical reason. I've never heard of a dr agreeing to an induction before 39 weeks without cause. If your BF wants to be there for the birth of his child, it's up to him to make that happen. It's not for the dr to risk your child's health over.

You need a legitimate medical reason for being induced that early. A responsible doctor will not induce that early just for convenience. It's true that not all babies have problems, but it greatly increases the risk. Let that baby cook until he wants to come out! 😊 your boyfriend will just have to make the time to come up when the baby comes

Doctors won't induce you because you want them to , they want what's best for the baby and that's letting them come out on their own unless for a medical reason

You have to have a medical reason.  They're not going to induce you before 39 weeks.  Tell ur BF to be ready when he gets the call because honestly distance isn't a good enough reason to interrupt a baby's much needed time in utero.

They won't induce without medical reasons before 39 weeks, if they'll induce at all. Most doctors won't induce unless you are two weeks overdue without a medical reason.
