Who believes in "Old Wives Tales"?

It depends!! I think a great example of this was when a friend of mine told me to put a marshmallow (the candy) in hot water to make a sort of tea for a sore throat. (Wth right?) Well I was laughing in my head and I had a revelation. Marshmallow ROOT is a remedy for a sore throat. Somewhere, sometime an actual piece of good advice was misconstrued and lost! The problem with old wives tales is that many of them are passed down verbally and it's like playing generational telephone. Some makes sense, some is nonsense.
