When to tell

Question

When do you plan to tell your older kids?  Mine are 8 and 4yrs old.  We have had one loss at 15wks and they know all about that how babies sometimes go to heaven before we meet them but I don't want to tell them too early either.

I'm in the same boat. Just about 6w now after a mc in December (at 6w).I have an ultrasound this Friday and definitely won't tell my 6yo until I hear a heartbeat, but after that I'm not sure.

It's getting hard to not tell her since I'm feeling so sick. She doesn't know about the mc, but she's mature for her age and knows sometimes babies don't make it to be born (via friends, etc.). I don't want to set her up for sadness, but also feel horrible hiding this. I share everything with her and I do want her to know before we tell any other family. She should get to enjoy announcing with us.

I haven't told my son 8yr old and possibly may tell him after the first trimester. He knows about our mc back on August 2015 and I don't want to get my hopes up nor his too. Unless I have a huge belly and can't hide it anymore lol.

I have older kids too,  and no idea how or when to tell them.   I am feeling occasionally sick,  but not bad enough that they notice.   I also had a missed miscarriage in the past,  and worry about setting them up for sadness and confusion.   We have an ultrasound Monday, but then the next week we go to Disney.   I am so worried about either bring sick or, this horrendous thought that came yesterday,  if I lost the baby while we were there.   My kids are 6, 6 and 4.

I told my 2 but only because of how sick I have been they noticed something wasn't right lol but when you feel like the time is right tell them xx

Hey Liz it'd a tough one I doubt there is a wrong or right answer I lost my baby in Dec at 9weeks and the kids knew .. I found the younger ones didn't really take it in , my older step son however too it hard ... Am 6 weeks the now with rainbow :) having the same dilemma I've not even told my mum :( it's hard xx congrats by the way and sorry for your loss
