Does clomid help if you ALREADY ovulate? I have regular cycles and positive OPKs. Doctor still gave me clomid. Confused ??

I had my first daughter with Clomid. I was ovulating with a regular 35 day cycle. My doctor gave me Clomid two months after a missed miscarriage to help "jump start" things. In her words, "Sometimes they (ovaries) just need a little push." Sure enough, I became pregnant two months later, with an anovulatory-appearing BBT chart ~ I had a cold that threw my temps completely off, and thought that was why I felt off.

I have regular cycles and know when I'm ovulating,  clomid has helped to increase the size of the follicles. Bigger follicle bigger chance of sperm meeting it 😊.
