Should I have sex without a condom yet?

I've been taking the pill for a month and a half now, I want to try having sex with my boyfriend without a condom, but idk if I should risk it yet?? Or should I wait for a while?

Okay so.

If you started your birth control pack when you were supposed to (the first day of your period), then you only have to wait 7 days.

If you started your birth control pack during a random time during your cycle, you need to wait one packet of pills before you are protected.

Birth control works by keeping you from ovulating. It basically tricks our bodies into thinking we're already pregnant so no eggs release. If you start the pack on your period, then it will keep you from ovulating that month. If you start it at a random time during your cycle, there's a possibility that an egg was already active and could be fertilized.

Either way, if you've waited a month and a half, you're good.

When going on the pill my OB GYN told me if takes 3 months minimum to start working at its full efficacy. She said she's had women who only waited a month or two and then got pregnant and came back confused to her because they thought they were good to go. So wait 3 months at least.

You've been on the pill for long enough now, the only reason your protection will go down is if you miss pills or are late. So as long as you're taking them on time you're good!

It's really up to you. None of us can really tell you what to do. But keep in mind BC isn't always 100% so a little extra protection wouldn't hurt.
