Who was at your ultrasound?

Our Doctor only does two ultrasounds: one to confirm the pregnancy and one at 20 weeks. My MIL found this out and asked if she can come to the 20 week. I had sort of considered inviting my own mother, but would need to include both sets of parents to be fair. Did anyone else invite anyone to see their ultrasound? Would you recommend/advise against it?

Just my hubby. Those rooms are so small to begin with, overcrowding can make it a negative experience.

Husband only for me. Who do you want there if they give you bad news?  And as the parents, I think this should be a special moment for you two. I also feel this way about birth.

I never had or wanted parents there. I like sharing that time with my partner and it is a lot of the tech looking at organs and things. Plus if they need a doc because something is wrong it would be awkward with company.

I had my mom Skype in on my cellphone since she lives 10 hrs away. No problem their.

The first just me and my bf but the second I invited my sister and mom. My moms other kids live so far away and she hasn't had those experiences with them so I wanted to include her, it was a big room and all 4 of us fit and we're fine. Bf didn't want mom there but invited his dad. His dad had no interest though.

I'm having my anatomy scan tomorrow. I asked my mom to come with. She's super excited. Im only allowed to bring up to 2 people otherwise I prob would have had my younger sister come too

This pregnancy dh will be there for all of them as it's something I want us to experience together...our next I told my mom she would be able to come if he couldn't make it...and to me it's too personal to have in-laws there...

If you can afford it, you could pay to have another ultrasound do done.

My husband came to a few of them but he has to work a lot and it's hard for him to make every appointment. I have one scheduled for the end of the month and I'm thinking of asking my mom to be with me. I would never ask my MIL but we don't have the best relationship either.

My MIL came to one appointment with me but not to an ultrasound. I just brought the disk back and shared it with everyone who wanted to see. My SO and I decided that more personal appointments should just include the two of us.
