My dad comes straight from Italy and his name is Franco. This is my third baby and if it's a boy I'm thinking I should use it as the middle name as my husband has his dads name as middle name for one of them.

First name is going to be Connor (subject to change lol).

I live in Australia and I'm not sure about using Franco or can I abbreviate it to Frank? Do you think it still means the same or would your dad take offense to using his name but changing it a bit?

EDIT - Thing is I would rather use a different middle name like Jude because my other too and my husband all their middle names start with a J. I just feel my dad might be sad if I didn't use his name.
