Loss at 3w 4d...chemical?

Had my first miscarriage this morning. Devastated, but positive that we can conceive again, hopefully soon. Upon doing some reading, learned about a chemical pregnancy. What's the difference between that and a regular miscarriage? I am breastfeeding my 12-month-old and my period hasn't returned yet. I just did a random test a week ago and got a positive.
