Should I be upset or am I over reacting?

I've been a little sad lately........
Maybe it's my hormones or maybe I have a reason.....
I know I shouldn't expect things from people.
But it's a "tradition" in the Mexican culture that your husbands side of the family throws you a baby shower.... My MIL or SILS didn't give me a baby shower :( 
I figured she would since it's their first grandchild and niece.....

I'm not asking for a huge bash.... But something small....like I said maybe I'm over reacting.....they all make good money... 
A little cake and some of his family would of been nice since none of his aunts went to my baby shower my parents threw me...
Advice ladies? Please don't be rude...

We're Hispanic and I totally understand where your coming from. It's definitely something I know it'd be bummed about. Especially if it's your first. Not even going to lie I'm a little upset my coma or someone on his side doesn't seem to be throwing me one knowing my suegros can't (they moved to Texas) & this is our second lol. I deff think the hormones are a big part of it too though haha. Just try and stay positive, once you have the baby a shower will be the last thing on your mind :)

Well I am Hispanic too and let me tell you, "I know how it feels". 
I am 36 weeks now and he has 3 sisters, no one even bothers to ask "How's the baby?" "How I am feeling?" Nothing at all. It feels like they really don't care at all and they were told I was pregnant when I was only 16 weeks. I am just deciding to ignore them because I don't want my baby to feel sad, but I also don't expect to let them be around my kid any time soon🙄 
Anyways I really enjoyed the baby shower my family threw for us! It was simple and amazing💕

We just moved to a new city and barely know anyone. We also just moved into a new house while I was at 32 weeks and this one woman (my husband's cousin's wife) actually asked me when I was throwing my own baby shower. Right...Coz I have had nothing better to do all this while. I'm exhausted after the move, we still need to buy some furniture and complete the house and we are yet to buy any of the baby's things. I was hoping to be able to rest and relax for a couple of weeks before the baby arrives. Planning, throwing and hosting my own baby shower is not something I plan on adding to my list of things to do. Smh

Sometimes you just get crappy in laws. I have them- they never come to anything we have, not a child's birthday or over to visit. (But they sure call for my husband to come do favors for them.) You don't need anyone to be there, that doesn't want to be. But when they say they want to show up at your house/ hospital to see the baby I would tell them you will let them know when "extended family can visit" I have a rule if you didn't come visit our first baby you can't come see our second.
