Is it true that you can gain/lose weight on the pill?

True I've been on it on and off for about 5 years when I first started taking it I maintained being 130 for three years I had clear skin and short light periods, then I stopped because I needed to renew my prescription in 2014  I went up from January to July with out it (I stayed 130) then I got back on it and all of a sudden I was breaking out, my period was longer, and I gained quite a bit I'm 182 now and I don't need to eat a lot and I'm very active. I just switch off of it yesterday I was tired of taking it everyday, and having my face break out the way I was.
