As a former psych student, one of the greatest things I learned was that though personal experience factors into everyone's personal stories, it is only case study. It doesn't outdo proven scientific fact. Some people, rare cases, are in fact medical mysteries and exceptions BUT PLEASE stop saying " it didn't happen to me so that cannot be true." You're wrong and that is the reason why so many people are misinformed. Case study data cannot be used to generalize for the population. I promise there are texts books upon textbooks to support the facts.
