I think it depends on how you feel. If you want to tell close family ( and friends) now that way if something happens you have support. Or if you would rather keep it a secret.  The statistics are in your favor for everything going fine. It is all up to you

We told our parent at 5 weeks and other later. But we went though fertility treatment so they kind of knew something would happen.

One of my friends announced on face book when she was like 2 days pregnant and it ended up being a false positive. So tgat was embarrassing for her. We had a mc in october and my in laws told EVERYONE when we got pregnant, we still get people asking how the pregnancy is going. So I would wait till appt, just in case. :)
