Movement Slowed Down?

Question

I've read a few stories about people saying right before they went into labor, their baby's movement slowed way down or some said they didn't feel the baby at all that day. I was wondering 1.) how true this was and 2.) when I should be concerned. My little girl is very active all day and I haven't felt her at all today (been awake about 2 hours) I've even ate to try to get her moving. I'm 38 weeks and probably just paranoid but I thought I would ask. tia ladies.

They slow when they drop. My son dropped two weeks ago. The days he's super low (hello pelvic pain) he's very quiet. They just don't have as much room when they drop into position. I'm having my third so those days don't concern me. He does move, it's just more subtle and less crazy.

If movement changes and you are concerned, call the dr.

Both my kids slowed down their movements a week before they came - I still felt them several times a day but not nearly as much as usual. My doctor said it could be bc they were just out of room or they were hunkering down and waiting to come out. I wouldn't worry as long as you are close to your due date and as long as you can still feel your baby every now and then throughout the day. If you are worried though, I would def call your doctor. Try to drink a couple glasses of water and juice and lay on your left side and see if that does anything. Drs don't like when baby changes their usual pattern. It could mean nothing but then again it could very well be something. I'd do that and see and of she is persistent on being quiet to get checked out. Always better playing it safe with little one and will put mammas mind at ease :) I believe with my last 2 boys their movements were the same until actual intense contractions started. Hope all is well!
