Can anyone give information on ovarian cysts?

My doctor told me yesterday I might have ovarian cysts. Is this something to worry about? And I am a week late and she said that the negative tests could be negative due to cysts and I could really be pregnant. Anyone have any insight  to this?

I have a giant (13cm) cyst on one of my ovaries and I get my period regularly with the exception of every 3rd cycle or so I'll be late a few days to a week or early a few days. Don't know much as mine does bother me and they usually go away on its own, usually a few cycles.
