If you pay for genetic testing on the embryos they also find out the genders.  Generally no though, most people don't do that unless there is a reason to need it. We didn't do the testing for our IVF cycle.

We're doing PGS but by law (Canada) they won't let us dictate the genders to implant. Instead, they take into consideration gender of children you may already have but they still won't tell us beforehand. We are TTC#1 &2 and will be doing 2 FETs at a time.

Yea but it costs a lot more to do that. My husband and I are doing genetic testing next time we do it for a girl baby. (:
