Story of your first period?

I was 13 when I first started my period and it was the day Kate Middleton was visiting our school, I was on the school swim team and I was supposed to be swimming that day infront of Kate, I was getting changed into my swimming costume and as I was I saw something red in my knickers, obviously I knew what it was but I was so shocked as it was unexpected.
I was forced to ask one of the year 11 girls in the changing room for a pad because I had none, I was only in year 8 so this was really embarrassing and I then had to go and tell the teacher (who was male) that I couldn't swim because I had just started my first period
It was a horrible start to periods

I was (and still am) 12, 7th grade. It was a swimming day in gym. I felt a weird stomach pain, and felt different in sick in 2nd period. So, I went straight to the bathroom when break started, right after 2nd period. I saw a small spot of blood in my panties. So, I put on a pad that the school nurse made my mom buy (long story.) that I had just put in my backpack 2 days before. I went to call my mom to get me out of swimming, when I heard it was canceled for some reason. I said nevermind, and there was no swimming that day. So I went to gym and there WAS swimming. The teacher asked why I was late for swimming and I said I called my mom because I started my "girl thing". She  apparently didn't understand and was super kind and told me to go change into my suit. I told her I couldn't because of my girl thing. She said "Oh, okay! Bring me a note tomorrow." It's wasn't too bad, fortunately. But awkward for sure!

I was 10. I was in the school play and it happened during the week of the performance. I didn't know what it was and I thought it was a huge skid mark but I hadn't pooed that day so I was concerned. I asked my friend and she said welcome to the world of anger.

I had just turned 11 and I felt a little damp down there ( that was normal tbh. I had the cycle loads of times before, it was just without the blood. Does that make sense?) and I went to the bathroom and lo and behold, I’d started. I went home that day and cried😂 I couldn’t put a pad on right for the first few times, my mom always said I looked like I had a little penis cuz of the position of the pad😂😂😂😂😂😂it was so funny.

I was 10 years old. We were leaving off to after school but I had to use the bathroom. I was in the bathroom and I saw brown. I. (Silently) freaked out. I sent a picture to my mom and she said "you got your period, go to the nurse" ( my consulor was rushing Me at this point) so I had to reassure them I was fine. I put tissue down and my afterschool was walking away. I told my best friend I got my period so she told the only girl consulor. She took me to the nurse to get a pad. When I got to the after school my friend (having her period since she was 9) told me I put my pad on backwards and she taught me how ( still love her for that) and I went home not to long after.

I was 10 when I got mine. A few weeks prior I had noticed I was getting my pubes one by one. (TMI I know lmfao) then I was in Austin with my Mom and every time I went to the restroom I saw a brown line and I assumed it was because I hadn't wiped right when i went #2 so I bathed and changed underwear. The next day, it happened again so I changed and went about my day. The 3rd day I was at home and I saw it again so I knew I had to ask my grandma what was up. She congratulated me and told me it was my period and asked me to put a pad on my underwear. She called my other grandma and told her, along with both my aunts. Then I went to my other grandma's and everyone basically celebrated. It was so humiliating! 😓

I got mine at 12 and the woman who worked for my mom at our house back in the day was there so I told her. When my mom came home she explained to me what it was and called everyone to tell them. Even my dad, who was on a business trip to the Czech Republic. It felt so humiliating knowing my mom was telling everyone about it! 😒
