Help, I don't know what to do.

Okay so I've been with my boyfriend for over a year now and I love him. I really do. The only problem is that my family doesn't think he's good enough for me. They like him as a person but they don't think he's the right one for me. And it's hard because I've never had a guy actually care about me and love me. Like the guys in the past used me and I had to pay for everything. And I know he loves me but sometimes I don't think he puts enough effort into it or daily things. Like he can be lazy in things that really shouldn't be a big deal to get done. And I'm just confused... I don't necessarily want to end it because I love him but my family makes me feel like I'm settling... I just need advice please!!!!
