28wks & baby in 90th percentile for growth

Abs
Hey there, so just had another anatomy scan & placenta check for baby. I'm currently 28wks & was told that baby boy is in the 90th percentile for growth. This is my 4 baby & my last one was 8lbs. OB said they'll perform another u/s at 36-37 wks to see where he's at & that there is a possibility they may talk about me having a c-section. That was the part that made me anxious. All my previous deliveries were vaginal & would like to do my best to avoid a c-section. Has anyone gone through a similar situation?

Remember too ultrasounds are not exact. It can be off quite a bit. I was told my babies would be bigger and smaller than they were by about a lb each pregnancy.

My first 3 were all 9lbs. And by measurements we guessed #4 would be similar. She was 7lb 4oz. Estimates are really just guesses. Especially late in pregnancy. They admit that U.S. Estimates are regularly 2 lbs off in either direction. Also ACOG does not support induction or csection just for suspected fetal macrosmia.

My 3rd son I was given numerous growth scans because he blocked my kidney they said it could cause small baby possibly. Anyway I had a scan at 37 weeks and he was way off the charts he was estimated at 8lb 10oz, then because of this they repeated the scan at 39 weeks where he was 9lb 11oz! I was induced at 6 days overdue and he weighed 10lb 8oz so the growth scans were accurate for me but even the ultrasound tech said they can be off late in pregnancy. As you can see from my profile pic where he was just a couple of hours old he was quite a chunk. My first two babies were both 9lb.No gestational diabetes with any of the pregnancies and all vaginal - just the third I opted for a epidural since I knew he would be big - best decision of my life 😂Good luck you will be fine the fact that you have had babies before will make this easier for you. Yes I was also told the same the last time with baby #4. And also that I would never be able to have a child over 8 lbs. Your body can do amazing things :) my last was 9 lbs 5 oz's and this one I'm pregnant with now I've also been told is in the bigger range as well. I'm not to worried though. They are going to check her weight again at around 32 weeks, I am currently 28 weeks. How big was your other babies? I'm sure you will do just fine :)

Thanks for the reply :-) so my other three were 7.6, 7.9, & 8. I think after your experience & some other friends of mine I've become less worried about a "big" baby & will try to listen/trust my body.
