Boys will be boys?

I dislike that saying, makes men sound like dogs that can't control themselves. What do you think? Obviously there are men that do act like dogs but sticking up for the nice guys out there 👍🏻

I HATE when people say this. Especially when it's my 3yo and he has done something naughty or rude. Yes he is a boy. No that does not make it okay to be a little shit.

I think it's just an excuse for inexcusable behavior. It's basically saying "they're a man and so they can possibly live up to reasonable behavioural standards" it's incredibly insulting to men and belies a sexist attitude entrenched by outdated gender roles

I don't like it - it is used to excuse bad behaviour by males and imply that they have little or no control over their behaviours (and shouldn't be held accountable) which isn't true.

Well in saying that boys will be boys not all boys are dogs and not all boys treat women badly. I'm a mom of all boys and I say that all the time. However, my husband treats me like a queen so they will follow suite we hope. Boys are onry.  Always on the go. And usually up to no good. However, I mean up to no good as in climbing trees and digging in mud. Not lying and cheating.

It's okay if they're five. But if it's a teenager say sexually harassing a girl and someone bystanding just brushes it off because of this saying, that's what I hate about it.

Boys will be boys - why are we talking about men ? Men will be men is offensive and stupid - but if you're calling you man a boy - then that's on you .
