Implant troubles...

I've had my implant for over a year now, and although I had a long period for about a month at the beginning when it was first injected, I haven't had a period since, now after a year and a bit l just got my period and I'm worried that it's gonna last for months and one of the main reasons I got it was to stop my periods, is there anything I can do? Is it normal?
