Honest opinion's please!

Recently started seeing some exclusively for almost a month now. If you've read my other post my bf live over an hr away. Last time he was over I noticed while he was on the phone he had a Kik messaging app. Now to me i think of using that app to chat with people online as being single ( as i have when I was single) I asked him and he mentioned he uses it to chat with friends from his online gaming community (mostly guys). He plays an online game with a bunch a people (male and female). He's reassured me nothing was happening and mostly he talks to guys. However I am uncomfortable and feel if it upsets me he shouldn't have the app. Now me bring this up makes him feel that I am controlling him (how is ex wife did) which isn't the case. It's just merely a concern. He's never given me a reason to feel he is trying to be secretive about the app or anything. To a point I understand where he is coming from. I am really starting to care for him. Just don't want to be made a fool. I've never been the type to be stalking snooping etc. Just the idea he has the app makes me uncomfortable (due to past relationship's and being lied and cheated on) . He is hardly on his phone when we're together. However when he is its mostly just Facebook. Did I overreact or was I right to want to make him take it off (which he didn't and says he doesn't feel the need to)? Just need options and thoughts please. 😐
