Birth control causing depression?

My step daughter said she cant take the pill because it makes her crazy and sad and anti-social. I'm worried about condoms breaking or falling off etc. What else can she do? Is this common? Her no suggested an iud but she is 18 and is weary of having it inserted.

I highly recommend the implant in your arm. But I would take her to a gyno and let them tell you which one is best.

I mean you can try the shot i believe it last a month to 3 months im not quiet syre but its a good alternative

There's a million different pills. I have a problem with progesterone so I'm on tri nessa which has a good balance and I've been fine with it. There is also a non hormonal IUD. Not every pill will work with everyone's hormones. You have to go through a bit of trial and error to find what works. I tried a few things before this and I've been on this one now for years with no issues

Birth control can make you emothal in the beginning  and some or so than others. There is shots she can get every 3 months and the implants. But please be care Bc there are these that they do not tell you about birth controls. They cause breast cancer and a friend of a friend of mine just got this dease they found in her lower back I can't remember the name of it. So please just do the research before you put her on anything. It will all course emothal problems in the beginning and then her body will get use to it it just the change in hormones.

I had the nexaplanon or something like that inserted in my arm and it did the same I had terrible mood swings it's the hormones that go into them ask the doctor about one that doesn't have so much

I highly recommend you to stay as far away from the implant as possible, I had the 3 year one and I had my period all but one week out of the month for 13 months, and after 13 long months of tampons and pads nonstop I switched to the pill and I I also suffer from the depression side effect. But I guess the implant did keep me from getting pregnant. 😉
