Self-employed and planning time off
Anyone else self-employed? I work full time running my graphic design and marketing business. It's just me, but I do have a few partners I contract with on various projects.
I'm really starting to freak out about taking "maternity leave" ... Because when you're self-employed, that doesn't really exist. I have contacted a few clients to try to schedule projects that typically happen in May for earlier or later so I can try to take off a couple of weeks right after the baby is born, but also know it will be nearly impossible to shut down for more than two weeks. Unfortunate, the tasks I have coming up around that time aren't really ones I can subcontract out, as much as I'd like to delegate them.
Anyone else in this situation? How are you planning to handle it?
