Today I went in for a normal visit, it was supposed to be the first time I get to hear the heartbeat (at14+4) well the fetal monitor didn't pick up the heart beat and I could tell my doctor was really trying to find it and then he looks at me and sais we need to do an ultrasound your placenta is too thick to hear the heart beat so I still have yet to hear it but I did get to see my baby wiggling and flipping around and the heart beat flicker. He told me not to stress and that we will check again at my next one but then of course I research it and find that it can cause growth restriction and maternal diabetes... Has anyone had a thick placenta?
