So I ended up in the hospital two days ago with severe pain. Turns out I have a rectal tear and a UTI (and on top of it I just got my period). I have prescription strength suppositories, antibiotics and pyridium (which is like the azo UTI pain relieving pills). I have taken about 6 doses of antibiotics and have yet to see relief...I'm not sure if this is normal or if maybe it's taking a bit longer to kick this infection. Either way, I'm experiencing EXCRUCIATING pain when I pee and around the general area of my urethra (externally) both when I pee and when I'm not. Is this a normal pin sensation for a UTI? I can't go to the bathroom without coming close to blacking out or vomiting from the pain but doctors are hesitant to prescribe pain meds since they tend to constipate you which would be worse for the rectal tear. Praying for some relief. Any tips for managing the pain and whether this external pain is normal would be great.
