Any other mums teachers?

Question

I'm a teacher and worried about what this means for my pregnancy... it's hard to hide being sick when you're unable to leave the classroom and the number of potential illnesses I'm exposed to every day is making my anxiety levels go through the roof.

Is this me being silly? Any experiences or suggestions?

I'm a teacher.
I'm not worried about anything yet. I haven't been sick enough to warrant leaving class, and I can typically sneak to the bathroom between every class.

After my first ultrasound, I'll tell administration and my neighbor.

I am a 6th grade teacher and I am constantly washing my hands and wiping things down because someone always has a cough or stuffy nose! I am able to go to the restroom most of the time when I need to. I told my team teacher so she is aware and can watch my class...

I was pregnant during a very high flu season and didn't get the flu shot - I was fine. I always just keep my hands away from my face, use hand sanitizer and wash my hands before eating. I also teach HS, so I can go to the bathroom without a problem. I haven't thrown up yet, but I do get nauseaous.

I think the grade level you teach plays a big role. My freshman English teacher in high school for pregnant and nibbled on crackers and sipped water but had to excuse herself some times. I went to a private school so all of us students were well behaved and knew how to act even when the teacher has dismissed him or herself for a minute or two. Teaching pre-k & kindergarten students, the parapro should be there to help take over in times of need. But if you're in the upper elementary or middle school then you may have to get someone else to man your classroom for a moment. As far as illnesses go, you are surrounded by them anywhere you go. Maybe send a note home with your students explaining the situation and that if a student is sick, NOT to send them in like so many parents do anyway, just for reassurance. good luck mama ❤️

I am also a teacher at an elementary school. Luckily I have a student teacher right now and two teacher assistants since I teacher special education. So it is pretty easy for me to slip away to the bathroom as much as I possibly need to. However it meant I have to tell them all very early that I am pregnant. I to am worried about getting sick. I make sure to Clorox wipe door nobs, tables, chairs, and technology a couple times a week and I hand sanitize my hands several times a day. I also have the kids sanitize their hands throughout the day. Maybe you can tell the teacher next to you so that she/he can cover your room when you feel the need to use the bathroom or be sick. Or maybe there is another staff member who has that time to cover you when needed. I have not told my students yet but they are 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders. They will figure it out soon.

I'm a teacher and work with lots of young ladies many who have had healthy pregnancies already as a teacher and many who are currently pregnant. We are at more risk of germ exposure, but you should be okay as long as you make sure you have hand sanitiser handy and antibacterial wipes. Keep your hands clean and your items clean and you should be okay. My other pregnant colleges have all suffered from a cold or two somewhere throughout their pregnancy but we're all fine. We all work with 5 year olds too - germs galour!

Most of us, including myself have had to make our principal aware of the pregnancy earlier than usual as morning sickness is difficult to hide, and the likely hood of needing a day off here and there is high. I had to tell my principal at 6 weeks.

My only thing would be if you have not had chicken pox before. In early pregnancy it's dangerous if you don't have antibodies. I'm a nurse and I've told my work mates so if anyone has an illness dangerous to me I can stay away
