Can you have a period and still be pregnant?

Question

I've had 3 faint positive tests but seems I've started my pregnant I'm medium to light flow no clots got slight pain on right side. Hospital can't scan as I'm before 6 weeks so have to wait it out. Just wondering if anyone has had a period and still been pregnant? I'm so confused

I had a "normal" period my first 5 months with my daughter. Like clock work, just went from 7days to 5 days.

I also had bleeding and cramping like pains in my left side when I was pregnant with my ectopic.

So to be honest it really just depends. Every woman is different just like every pregnancy she has will be different. Best thing to do is to put your feet up, try to keep yourself calm, and get in to see your doctor as soon as you can.

You can have bleeding but not a period... A period is the shedding of the lining of the uterus. So if you shed the lining when pregnant it's a miscarriage.... However you can bleed and spot.

Thanks for your reply. This is 1 of my test but I am bleeding like a period it's not heavy I have slight pain on my right but don't know how to take it its like my period :/ heavier than spotting x

Sort of. I had some very light period like bleeding for around 5 days but it felt off. So I took a pregnancy test and am pregnant. It's not technically a period. 
I also did not have any cramps or usual period cravings of salty French fries. 
I'm still finding it hard to believe.
