When you finally went into labor, what happened first?

I started with contractions. I never had a bloody show or lost a mucus plug that I know of. They broke my water manually when I was at 8cm. I was afraid to go to labor and delivery because I wasn't 100% sure since I expected one of those things to happen so I knew it was real...I had been having contractions for weeks so wasn't entirely convinced until I got admitted. The triage nurse didn't believe I was in labor either. She was like your contractions are only a 3 and they usually are around 8 if it is real. But she was wrong and the sensors they hook you up to didn't work on me properly even after getting admitted.

Had son 1/27 was due 2/23, mucus plug fell first back on 1/16 and they stopped contractions but the mucus kept coming cause my cervix was 2cm... weeks later on 1/27 mucus was coming out again figured I'd call the doc in the morning but nope water broke 3:30am!
