Contractions?

This may sound incredibly dumb but I'm having what feels like Braxton hicks contractions. But they aren't going away when I switch positions and I'm having back pain as well. I never had Braxton hicks with my first so I don't know what exactly they feel like.

I never had them with my first but do this time.. I was told to drink a lot of water when it happens

Drink a ton of water. Dehydration brings them on.

Keep an eye on them.... The back pain along with the tightening of the uterus  I would be more concerned with, that sounds like real contractions. If they become really uncomfortable, call L&D and ask what they recommend you do :) good luck momma

My Braxton Hicks, which I've felt for a couple months now, feel like my uterus is getting really tight for 20ish seconds. Sometimes the whole uterus, sometimes just the bottom half. My belly feels ROCK-HARD during them and the shape goes from soft/round to almost square. When I was hooked up to the monitor, baby boy's heart rate would jump 20-30 bpm or more during the contraction. They don't usually hurt, though. The one day they felt crampy and painful for more than an hour, I went in to be sure nothing bad was happening. They were never crampy with my first pregnancy until the real deal started - in fact, that's how I could tell the difference.

My Bradley coach said if you walk around and keep doing day to day chores and the contractions don't stop, they are real. If they stop, they're BH.

I've been having Braxton Hicks during my current pregnancy (I never experienced them with my first either) and my midwife told me that if they are continuous or get worse then it could be premature labour.. I'm definitely not trying to scare you, but it could be something to speak to your midwife or doctor about.
