Does it matter?

Question

My due date is March 4th but my doctor decided to schedule my induction on the 28th of Feb. This is my third child and I'm excited. Unless of course I go into labour sooner.

My real question is people are telling me its bad if I have my child on the 29th, but I dont care. Was wondering what you ladies on here think?

I mean its my child I think its my choice and my husbands. Just hate people always having an opinion on everything.

I think it's so dumb that people freak out about leap year birthdays. Having one is special! Obviously you still get older each year, you just celebrate it February 28th or March 1st. No biggie.

Omg I'm so jealous!!! I would love to have my daughter on the 29th lol I think it is SO COOL!! I'm going to try and schedule an appt to have my membranes swept on that day just to see if she will come out :) you never know, she might still be born on the 28th.

People just think it's bad because your child's birthday will come around once every 4 years but it's not like your baby won't still have a birthday every year. Some people even think it would be cool if their child was born then because it's extra special. Who cares what they think

I think it would be cool! I was just in childbirth class with lots of women due near leap day and most of them were against having their baby on leap day. Idk why. It would be unique :) It's a special day but not like you have to share it with a holiday.

Haha, I actually want to have my baby on leap year. Then it would be kind of like a lunar eclipse and only come once every so many years. :)

I am in the exact same boat. Due date 3/4 but induction for medical reasons to start evening of 2/28 with a likely delivery 2/29.

I could care less about baby's birth date but do care about having, ideally, a med-free birth. Best for my recovery and baby's health. So am trying to more naturally / gradually induce this week via acupuncture even if that means the birth date ends up being 2/28 or 2/27.  But we'll see what happens!

FWIW we haven't told anyone our gender, name, or induction date ... because we don't care about anyone's opinions or reactions. Problem solved! :)
