If you have undergone IUI with ultrasound and trigger shot, when shot administered in relation to ultrasound?

I have taken clomide CD 5-9 and am scheduled my ultrasound to check folecules on CD13. My Dr prescribed a trigger shot and I am to bring it. I am new to this and don't know when these things take place normally I get a positive OPK on CD 12-13 and then have next day as ovulation and confirmed temp shift the following. My Dr looked at past charts sp he know this, do you think he will administer tiger and we will need to return following day for the IUI? Also what if I get positive OPK before my appointment?

I'm utlrasound was on cd12, cd14 I did a shot and IUI cd16. When the hematite my follicles were 13 and 14mm but the docs said they would grow in time for the trigger so I guess they were right since I'm pregnant

My iui has been similar to yours round of Clomid days 5-9 then she does ultra sound cycle day 12 and I usually ovulate on day 12/13 so I get my trigger shot on the day of my ultra sound in the morning then iui that night or iui the next morning. I've had 4 rounds of iui so far. So this has been what I've done.

The trigger shot makes you ovulate, so I am confused why you would take clomid and ovulate before you go to the dr for the ultrasound.
