Cars in the Winter

GG
I'm a highschool student that has been saving for years to buy a vehicle.. I love up in Pennsylvania, USA and if you're familiar with these winters they are rough lol. Snow/Ice/Sleet and everything and our weather seems to be very indecisive. Yes, I want to buy a vehicle. Yes, I know I can't when I'm under 18 and yes the title is going to be in my mothers name. My question for yinz is.. what vehicle not a truck or suv , do you recommend that runs decent in snow?
and also have a sunroof ;) us ladies are planning a summer vacation

I live in Manitoba Canada, believe me I know winter. Most cars will be okay as long as you have a heater. Some cars come with shitty little ones not built for winter so just make sure it has a good heater. Ask when your going to buy it how well it runs in winter aka needing to be plugged in to turn on etc. Winter tires are a must if it gets super icy!!

Any vehicle will be fine just get all season tires. I personally have a Honda and I like in Pennsylvania as well.

I live in PA as well!! I have a Toyota Matrix and it's a tank in the snow!! It's AWD, which helps a lot!! Whatever you decide to get, take it to a snowy, empty parking lot and play. That's the best way to learn how to control your car if you would start to slide or your back end kicks out. All season tires are good, studded snow tires are even better if you live up north or in the mountains.

As long as you have good tires you should be ok in just about anything. I've heard Subaru is really good. My little Honda insight goes great in snow, seen other people sliding all over the road when I couldn't even tell it was slippery.I live in Maine, so I'm guessing our winters are worse than yours. Go slow, don't hit the brakes(or gas) abruptly or jerk the wheel and you'll be ok!

I had a volkswagen passat with all around weather tires and it did awesome! I changed to a jeep but if I had to choose a car I would definitely go back to a passat.

We live in Northern Minnesota, about an hour from Canada, so we get more than our fair share of snow/ice. We drive a Nissan Sentra and it does great on the snow and ice.
