First Trimester Gender Test

Have any of you had the early chromosomal blood test to determine your baby's gender? Is it worth knowing sooner, or waiting the regular 1-2 months later? I know it's still fairly new, but quite accurate and growing in popularity, so most insurance companies don't cover it... The test is about $100.
