So whenever I am on my period I always end up staining my bed spread at night and my underwear during the day and I was wondering if anyone has tips for preventing that? Thanks

If youre not comfortable using a tampon (which I think is the next best thing after the diva cup) or if extremely huge pads bother you as much as it did with me, I would suggest two things: either place a piece of paper on the butt area of the underwear, just where your normal pads end OR line the area where your butt typically lay with newspapers. These tricks helped me when I wasn't comfortable with tampons just yet and I've never had leaks on my bedsheets ever again. :)

a menstrual cup may help out in preventing that and if you want to be on the safe side still wear a pad maybe even double up on pads still

Is it like you get your period for the first time at night and stain?  For that, I'd start wearing pads or tampons to bed as soon as you're expecting your period.

If you're bleeding through your pads/tampons during your whole cycle, I'd recommend heavier pads/tampons.  I feel like bleeding heavier at night is normal, so you could use regular tampons during the day and still need large ones at night.

And the best thing I've found for getting out blood is hydrogen peroxide if you clean it while the stain is fresh.
