Jaundice ?😐

Question

My baby boy is just 5 days old and he has a little jaundice. I upped my Vitamin D supplements since I'm breastfeeding, and let him soak up some sun for 5mins at a time daily (if these Portland clouds permit). But he's just yellowing and I don't know how long it lasts or how to aid it. Help?

If he continues to yellow to the point his whites are yellow I would call the dr. They can set you up at home with photo therapy. Looks like a baby size tanning bed. Helped my 1 week old in 2 days.

All 3 of my boys have had Jaundice it's not something you want to leave untreated as it can cause neurological damage in the long run. 
Seek information from your pediatrician and he or she can send you to the lab for baby's bilirubin levels and determine if you need photo therapy yet or not.

My son was jaundice until he was like 7 weeks and the dr said jaundice baby's who are breastfed can stay jaundice for 2-3 months nothing to Worry about . Give a few more weeks if it's still not gone u can get his level tested just to make sure it didn't go up since he was born .

My baby's levels went up for a week before they started coming back down she is 6 weeks and still has some it's winter in Wisconsin and isn't much sun at ur check up if ur Doctor is considered they will have him tested until they says its high enough for test ment or starts going down good on its own, I don't think they do treatments till it's about 20
