After a cervical check and a pap did you bleed?

I just had a pap smear done. I'm 26 weeks. Plus he checked my cervix and I had a blood clot come out. Plus some minor bleeding.

Isn't it to early to be checking the cervix? My dr told me he wouldn't start checking till 36 weeks 34 at the earliest. I would for sure call the dr and let them know your having minor bleeding due to the check.

Why are they doing a pap at 26 weeks?

I had a pap at 8 weeks and bled so much that they sent me to get an ultrasound to make sure baby was ok.  I have never bled from a pap before. I also passed clots. I was panicking...I bled through the sheet that covers the table and it was all over my thighs when I stood up. FTM and was there alone.  But, after that day I only had brownish discharge for a day or so and then it was all cleared up. My midwife said that my cervix was very irritated but also that anytime you're pregnant it becomes engorged with blood and is more sensitive than any other time.

I would say yes, but not that much. I get more like pink on the paper and not the clot that is there. I'd let them know and describe it to them.

I never have but it's very common to bleed.

My doctor warned me that I might have some spotting after my Pap. That was way earlier in pregnancy though. I'd make sure they have a good reason for doing it this late and I'd let them know about the blood clot, that's seems like more than just spotting. Better safe than sorry.

The dr usually warns you that you will have some spotting after paps or cervical checks.
