Baby doesnt want to eat :(

My baby will b 9 months in early March but he still doesnt really like eating. He just recently started eating cerelac and only likes eating that..i tried once again to give him homemade pureed food (sweet potato, lentils, rice water) and he vomited it all out! :(
He sometimes will eat tiny bits of food off our plates if we feed it to him, but not enough to actually count as a meal.
Is anyone elses baby doing this too?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Also..those who have given egg or peanut butter...how did u prepare n give to baby?
Will wait eagerly for a reply!

My son eats but not a lot and now that I'm trying to introduce foods to chew he gags and brings it all back up. He ate a couple puffs today with no gagging so I'm hopping he's getting the hang of it. He's not a chewer which I find so odd

My son only did baby cereal for about 3 weeks and when started the baby food we acted as if he was gagging. He just wanted real food and no mush. He has two teeth and eats chicken , beans, rice, pasta, fruits & veggies. Read this it might help. http://www.babyledweaning.com

My baby is 9 months and she hates purée. She will spit any purée out or close her mouth so tightly if I try to feed her. Then I tried finger food or mashed steam vegetables or fruits, she loves them. Seems she like more textures kinda food than purée. Try steam broccoli (it's very soft) and let him hold to eat himself or you can try to feed him with your hand to teach him how to eat, and see if he likes it. Good luck... 😊

He may just not be ready for food yet. Food before 1 is for fun. Try one food puréed at a time instead of mixing lots together. And I'd wait on the eggs and peanut butter Until he's eating other things well. We started with sweet potatoes and then moved to pears. My nephew wouldn't eat til he turned just over a year. It's not uncommon. Just be patient. He'll get there :)

food before one is NOT just for fun. although that is a common saying it is a very false statement. food before 1 does have nutritional importance such as the prevention of iron deficiency anemia, zinc deficiency, and also possibly the prevention of food allergies and type one diabetes. not to mention it is great for them fo learn developmental skills such and experience new things. the AAP and the WHO both recommend exclusively breastfeeding or formula feeding until 6 months but shortly after that time food needs to be introduced.

Maybe baby just isnt ready and thats ok. Or maybe lo isnt a fan of the options given some can be picky. Avocado and bananas are great starter solid foods because they are already mushy and easy to gum or chew. Scrambled eggs are easy also if you are wanting to try eggs. I would hold off on peanut butter not because they cant have it yet because they can...but because your little one is already struggling to eat solid foods giving something difficult to eat might frustrate them or cause gagging or choking. When baby is a better eater you can spread peanut butter super thin on pancakes, toast, waffles etc... Or melt it and mix it in yogurt or oatmeal etc. I would just keep offering lots of different food to expose baby to options. Puffs are great for babies to practice the pincher grasp and self feed. My lo will be 9 months on the 8th and she will eat pretty much anything. Loves spinach and banana muffins and meatballs. Don't worry though just keep trying. My lo hates oatmeal and baby cereal she wants real food lol.
