Bloody show?!

Hi ladies,
   So I'm 40w4d and SO ready for baby! Yesterday I had a appointment with my midwife and she checked my cervix; today I have lots of mucusy discharge that's brownish pink in color along with menstral-like cramping that seem paired with contractions. Do you think this is my bloody show and labor or just a reaction from the exam? 
I'm trying to not get my hopes up that labor is finally happening if it's not 😕

I had the same thing after my check at 38+1. At 38+3 my water broke on its own and the next day my baby was here! I think it's very individual but if the cramps are a little more frequent than usual or the Braxton hicks a little more strong, it could be the very beginning. My water breaking felt like a period cramp with just a little more pressure and then a "pop" feeling down low. Almost mistakable for a baby movement but when my discharge increased i knew. I will say, I posted the exact same question yesterday! This morning, I woke up and was still slightly spotting but definitely lost my mucus plug too. So not to get your hopes up, but I definitely think it could be your show or plug... Especially since you're overdue :)

I felt the same and had the same discharge for 2 days after my 38.6 week cervical check, I'm 39+4 now and no baby or serious contractions just a few cramps here and there.

I had my membrane swept yesterday at 40+3, and my discharge has been brown from blood from the exam... but no plug.. I think if you lose your plug you'll just know.  It's kinda noticable.
