Hey guys, I've been on 500mg metformin for a few weeks now and I've been lucky and had zero side effects. I went to the doc this morning as he has put me on a care plan with dietitians and physical physiologist to help me lose weight and I asked if I could increase my dosage and take another tablet at night, he said no 500mg is enough. I don't believe he takes me seriously in my goal to get pregnant and that's why I don't feel like he wants me on a higher dose. Is it safe for me to increase my own dosage? If I have any side effects I would 100% drop it back down to 500mg, I just feel like this isn't enough. Should I wait till I get another period? (I started met the day after my period finished) Has anyone increased their own dosage without docs approval? Thanks guys!
