Just prescribed metformin! help?

I was just finally prescribed metformin 500mg 1 daily.

Ive heard of the awful stomach discomfort, can some of you please tell me your experiences so I know what I'm in for ? thank you 💖

I started taking 500mg the extended release ones, and I haven't had anything really except if I don't snack throughout the day (healthy snacks, no carbs, no fats and no sugar) I feel nauseous and/or get a slight headache.

I've been on it since Jan. Had the diarrhea too. It does reduce hunger and it helped me with my energy level. I actually had a normal period after 1.5 months instead of 3.

Did my research to get over the diarrhea and it definitely requires a change in diet. Less starches and grease. We found paleo was a common thing.  We're on week two and I feel better. No pains hours after eating like before!

Im on 1500mg now . Try taking them at night before bed , until your body gets used to it . Then you can take it with /or after a meal with no problems ! I've been taking it for a month with no issues at all . You also have to eat wholefoods

I was taking 850mg twice a day, but I could never get over the side effects, nausea vomiting diarrhea. They started me on 500mg extended release twice a day now it's tolerable.

I'm taking 2 pills a day 500 mg each, my stomach is horrible I'm nauseous all day it gave me diarrhea and mild headache. I barely get hungry I just eat because pills needs to be taken with meals. Hope everything is worth at the end. 🙏🏼
