HSG - one blocked tube?

Question

So I had a HSG yesterday afternoon. It wasn't too painful, more of an odd pressure sensation but I had taken two ibuprofen an hour before my appointment.

The dye rushed through my right tube but couldn't get down my left. The radiologist said that doesn't necessarily mean it's blocked, it could have clamped up like a muscle spasm or all the dye could have rushed down my right side. She wasn't allowed to say much else as the result has to go to her consultant you'll write a report to send to the fertility clinic I attend.

Feeling mixed emotions now as I wanted them to find a problem as we've been TTC for 18 months.

J you sound totally like my situation.
Had a HSG and right tibe dripped dye rather than pushed it.
I had laproscopy - investigation plus or minus treatment. Apparently they dont know the deal til they look and for a woman it means surgery.
Anyway i agreed that if the tube was blocked and could cause ectopic pregnancies etc then they could remove. They also wanted to make sure it wasnt hydrosalpinx where nasty fluid leaks into uterus and stops implantation.
Had it done but all was ok :) they said it was slightly 'clubbed' but not anything to affect pregnancy.
Now i am on the waiting list for ivf. I saw you're in uk too so you get the waiting time stuff! 6 months!
Doctor put me on clomid for 2 cycles (started them 2 days ago) so i am praying for this to happen now and not need ivf. I mean it's a gift to have this science around particularly on the nhs- but still, i so desperately want to do this for myself! At least just for baby #1 anyway!! When's your op?

So I had my follow up appointment yesterday, I was offered a laraposcopy or ivf. Feeling a little shocked to be honest as I didn't expect ivf to be offered so soon or that it would come to this 😓. I've chosen the laraposcopy as I thought it was worth a try to see if they can open up my left tube.

What a bummer! I would feel like, "Just my luck". Seems like with every good thing, one/two or more bad things happen. I'm sorry! I'm sure you was wanting to know some results. So you could take the next step into seeing why you guys haven't conceived yet. Doctors seem to take forever diagnosing something!
