Age you started your period?😬

I'm curious to what age other people started. I did when I was 12 and I was terrified feel free to share your period starting story's😊

I was 12 when I started. I remember freaking, I couldn't even say the words "I started my period." Instead, I brought my mom her pads and said "I have to use these now" and I started crying. Apparently, my mom told my whole family because right after that, my dad came into my room crying and saying "my baby girl is a woman now!" Most embarrassing time of my life!!

It was the first summer after my parents got divorced so for vacation my dad took my younger sister and I to a mall in charlotte and we stayed In a hotel. My stomach would hurt constantly and my dad told me it was just a stomach bug. I was just getting used to discharge but when it came out on my panties as a brownish red color I didn't know what it was or what to do so I didn't do anything. Worst family vacation ever.

I just came across this post. I started mine when I was  8 1/2... yikes!! My mom was worried I was young, she started when she was 15-16, but was more athletic. Don’t know if that has anything to do with it..  I’m now going to be 50, the end of this month.. I can’t wait for it to be over and stop.. I don’t have any biological kids, but 2 older kids in their late 30s from my husband’s first marriage .

Got mine on my 16th birthday. I was so relieved because I thought something was wrong with me! Could never relate to all of my friends period probs hahaha but oh boy I do now 4 years later 😂

Hahahaha, I remember my first period. I was 9. Here's the semi long story--
- I was in the bathroom to pee when I pulled down my underwear and realized I was bleeding. I didn't panic because I knew what periods were.
I went to my mom, rolled my eyes, and explained with a heavy sigh that I had my period. She was so excited for me and was all giggly and proud. I wasn't so happy. 😒

I told my big sister that my period came but that I didn't know what to do about it(all I knew was that periods are female puberty "gifts"). So she took several pads from our pad stock and tore them apart piece by piece to explain how they worked. She also explained tampons, cramps, breast sensitivity, and ther things. Her explanation made me feel a lot calmer about AF and I didn't hate it as much. When we finished talking she hid the torn pads deep inside the trash can in the bathroom so our parents didn't find out we wasted several pads. 😂

To;dr: I was 9, my mom was excited when she found out, I didn't know what a period really was, and my big sister saved the day by teaching me about them.🎉

I was 11 and I was at a pizza buffet and I have a lactose sensitivity. I was wearing my favorite white shorts and I noticed that I was getting the runs because of all the cheese I ate so I went to the bathroom and I looked down and I had bled (and diarrhea-d) through my shorts. I told my mom and we went home and she helped me wash my shorts and she asked me if I was sure it wasn't diarrhea. I told her I was sure it was my period and she still doesn't know to this day.

I was 11 and it was no big deal. I did call my mom to be sure that's what it was though because I was not expecting it and I don't think I believed it lol
